Pakistan Regrets US Veto on UN Ceasefire Resolution for Gaza

United Nations: Pakistan has expressed deep regret over the United States’ veto of a United Nations Security Council resolution that called for a ceasefire in the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the country’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Munir Akram, stated in a conversation with the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) that the resolution was vetoed by the sole negative vote of a permanent member of the Council. The Security Council had voted 14-1 in favor of the resolution, but it was not adopted due to the US veto.
