Islamabad: On the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Pakistan has declared its unwavering support for the Palestinian right to self-determination and the formation of an independent state. This stance includes the establishment of a State of Palestine with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, based on pre-1967 borders.
According to Press Information Department, President Asif Ali Zardari highlighted the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and other occupied territories, which he attributed to Israel’s military actions. These actions, he stated, have resulted in over 45,000 Palestinian deaths over the past year, with many victims being women and children. The president condemned the obstruction of humanitarian aid and called on the international community to intervene decisively.
Pakistan’s statement emphasized the need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and urged the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to ensure the delivery of humanitarian supplies. The statement also reiterated Pakistan’s support for measures holding Israel accountable for its actions, which have been described by the International Court of Justice as “plausible genocide.”
The release concluded with a call for collective responsibility to ensure justice and equality for the Palestinian people, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to the Palestinian cause.
