Pakistan Reaffirms Support for Kashmiri Self-Determination Rights

Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) in their quest for self-determination. The affirmation came during a webinar hosted by the Pakistan Embassy in Berlin to mark Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during the webinar, Minister Tarar highlighted the ongoing sacrifices made by the people of IIOJK in their struggle against what he described as disempowering actions by India, including the deprivation of voting rights and the expulsion from their land. These measures were first enacted on August 5, 2019, and have been a point of contention in the region.

The Information Minister underscored that Jammu and Kashmir is recognized internationally as a disputed territory. He criticized India’s occupation as a violation of international laws and a disregard for universally acknowledged human rights principles. He affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to continue advocating for the Kashmiri people at international forums until significant global actions are undertaken.

Tarar called on the international community to exert pressure on India to halt its human rights abuses and reverse its unilateral and illegal actions in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
