Pakistan Reaffirms Support for Kashmir, Highlights OIC Meeting and UN Engagements


Islamabad: Pakistan will persist in its support for the people of Kashmir through moral, political, and diplomatic channels, stated Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, the spokesperson for the Foreign Office. This affirmation comes amid ongoing tensions and international discussions regarding the region’s status.



According to Kashmir Media Service, during a weekly press briefing in Islamabad, Baloch reported on the recent activities concerning the Kashmir issue. A notable event was the OIC Coordination Group on Kashmir meeting in New York, led by Pakistani Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif. The meeting concluded with a strong declaration against the illegal confiscation of property belonging to Kashmiris and the ban on various political parties in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.



The spokesperson also highlighted the involvement of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif at the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Sharif’s agenda includes addressing the assembly and participating in the Leadership for Peace meeting. His engagements also included a meeting with the United Nations Secretary-General, which underscored the significance of Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts on the international stage.



Furthermore, Baloch mentioned that Prime Minister Sharif expressed condemnation of the increasing Israeli aggression, signaling Pakistan’s active stance on other international matters.
