New York: Pakistan has reiterated its firm opposition to the use of chemical weapons, declaring that such actions are unacceptable under any circumstances. This statement was made by Pakistan’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Usman Jadoon, during a briefing at the UN Security Council focusing on the Middle East.
According to Radio Pakistan, Usman Jadoon emphasized the critical role of the Chemical Weapons Convention in the global disarmament framework. He expressed Pakistan’s support for efforts aimed at the universalization of the convention and its comprehensive, effective, and non-discriminatory implementation.
In his remarks, Jadoon also acknowledged the Syrian authorities for their commitment to cooperating fully with the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
