Pakistan Reaffirms Commitment to Regional Peace and Dialogue

Islamabad: Pakistan has reiterated its commitment to fostering cooperative relations with all neighboring countries, including India, emphasizing the importance of dialogue to resolve longstanding issues.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a weekly briefing, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch highlighted Pakistan’s consistent advocacy for constructive engagement, particularly in addressing disputes such as the Jammu and Kashmir issue. Baloch expressed concerns over what she described as a lack of political will from India to engage in dialogue for dispute resolution. She stressed Pakistan’s commitment to peaceful coexistence and regional stability, urging India to create a conducive environment for peace talks.

The spokesperson also raised concerns about property seizures in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, describing these actions as harassment of the local Kashmiri population. Baloch called on India to halt the confiscation of properties and adhere to international obligations.

Baloch further addressed developments in Syria, expressing worries that the ongoing situation may destabilize the region and empower terrorist groups. She emphasized the need for international efforts to deescalate tensions in Syria and for maintaining its unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
