Pakistan Reaffirms Commitment to Kashmiri and Palestinian Self-Determination, Says Ambassador Akram


New York, In a solemn commemoration of the 84th Pakistan Day at the Pakistan House in New York, Ambassador Munir Akram reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine in their quest for self-determination. The national flag hoisting ceremony, accompanied by the National Anthem, underscored Pakistan’s stance as a vocal advocate for universal human rights, particularly the right to self-determination for all peoples under foreign occupation.



According to Kashmir Media Service, Ambassador Akram emphasized the significance of March 23 in Pakistan’s history, marking the resolution to establish an independent state under the guidance of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He highlighted Pakistan’s role in the United Nations, stressing the country’s dedication to fostering peace, friendship, and multilateral cooperation in alignment with the UN Charter.



Pakistan’s vision, inspired by its founding fathers, aims to contribute to a peaceful and stable international order, adhering to UN Charter principles, including non-use of force and respect for sovereignty. Ambassador Akram’s remarks reflect Pakistan’s commitment to advocating for the rights of Kashmiri and Palestinian peoples, urging consistent application of the right to self-determination.



The ceremony, jointly hosted by the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the United Nations and the Pakistan Consulate General, New York, saw the participation of embassy staff and dignitaries, including Deputy Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN, Usman Jadoon, and Consul General Aamir Ahmad Atozai. Messages from Pakistan’s President and Prime Minister were also shared, reinforcing the national and international objectives of Pakistan.
