Pakistan Reaffirms Commitment to Kashmir Issue, Says Senate Chairman Gilani


Islamabad: Senate Chairman Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering and consistent stance on the Kashmir dispute, emphasizing the country’s dedication to advocating for the Kashmiri people’s rights at international levels.



According to Kashmir Media Service, Gilani led a delegation of members from both the Senate and National Assembly in a meeting with UK-based representatives of the Jammu and Kashmir Self Determination Movement International and the International Students Society. During the discussion, he condemned the violations of international law by the Indian army in Kashmir and praised the efforts of UK-based groups in supporting the Kashmiri cause.



Gilani highlighted Pakistan’s efforts to bring international attention to the Kashmir issue through platforms like the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. He stated that Pakistan’s foreign policy is heavily centered on seeking a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir dispute, in accordance with international law, UN Security Council resolutions, and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.



The Kashmiri delegation, including prominent figures like Raja Najabat Hussain, Yasmine Dar, and Zeshan Arif, expressed gratitude towards Gilani for his strong and clear stance on the matter.
