Islamabad: On the occasion of ‘Kashmir Accession to Pakistan Day,’ Federal Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs, Engineer Amir Muqam, reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast support for the Kashmiri people across all global forums.
According to Kashmir Media Service announcement issued on 19 July 2024, in his official statement marking the day, Minister Muqam reflected on the historical significance of July 19, 1947, when Kashmiris voted for accession to Pakistan, a decision he described as a testament to their long-standing and ongoing struggle for self-determination. He praised the continuous commitment of the Kashmiri people, noting their willingness to face immense challenges to uphold their decision.
Minister Muqam also highlighted the symbolic actions of Kashmiris, such as draping the coffins of their martyrs with Pakistan’s flag, which he said illustrates their unbreakable bond with Pakistan. He pointed to the visible signs of allegiance throughout Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, where the Pakistan flag is a common sight, emphasizing the deep-rooted desire for accession to Pakistan among the Kashmiri populace.
“The commitment of Kashmiris to Pakistan is eternal,” stated Muqam, underscoring that no efforts by India have been able to weaken the resolve of the Kashmiri youth, who are as determined as their ancestors to achieve their right to self-determination and fully integrate with Pakistan.
Muqam assured that Pakistan would persist in its support for the Kashmiri cause, advocating for their rights at every international venue and continuing to stand in solidarity with them in their quest for freedom.
