Islamabad: Pakistan has reiterated its stance that dialogue and diplomacy are the only viable paths to address the escalating tensions in the Middle East. Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi emphasized the country’s commitment to sustaining efforts aimed at resuming dialogue between Iran and the United States during a weekly news briefing.

According to Radio Pakistan, Andrabi stated that Pakistan is actively engaged in diplomatic efforts to normalize the situation and will continue to play a constructive role. He highlighted ongoing negotiations aimed at adhering to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and the Pakistan-Qatar Joint Statement from June 22. The spokesperson urged all parties to exercise maximum restraint and commit to technical-level talks to implement the agreed-upon frameworks.

In response to inquiries about a documentary by DW on Pakistan’s nuclear security program, Andrabi dismissed it as misleading and speculative. He asserted that Pakistan’s nuclear program is governed by robust command and control mechanisms and meets the highest international standards, as acknowledged by independent experts.

Addressing another question, Andrabi criticized the Indian government’s decision to block access to social media accounts of Pakistan TV Digital and other platforms, labeling it a suppression of information. He called on the international community and media organizations to scrutinize India’s actions concerning media restrictions.
