Pakistan Reaffirms Commitment to Democratic Process and Human Rights, Says Foreign Office

Islamabad, The Foreign Office of Pakistan has declared the country’s full commitment to fostering an inclusive democratic process, ensuring the rule of law, and safeguarding human rights and fundamental freedoms as enshrined in its law and constitution. This statement comes in response to remarks made by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights concerning the upcoming general elections in Pakistan.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch emphasized the government’s readiness for the elections, scheduled for Thursday, in compliance with Pakistan’s electoral laws. Baloch reassured that security arrangements are in place to facilitate the smooth conduct of the polls. Additionally, she highlighted the strength of Pakistan’s judicial system, which guarantees fair trial and due process, noting that domestic legal remedies are readily available for any electoral grievances.
