Pakistan Reaffirms China as a Keystone of Its Foreign Policy: PM

Islamabad, In his recent discussions with Party Secretary of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Ma Xingrui in Urumqi, Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar underscored the importance of Pakistan’s relationship with China, heralding it as the cornerstone of its foreign policy and a stabilizing force for regional peace and progress. The Prime Minister recollected his prior engagements with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang in Beijing, noting the dedicated efforts of the Chinese leadership to enhance bilateral relations.

According to a news release by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Emphasizing Xinjiang’s significance to Pakistan due to its geographical, historical, and cultural connections, PM Kakar accentuated the need to augment ties in various sectors, from trade and investment to cultural exchanges. Party Secretary Ma Xingrui, acknowledging the Prime Minister’s visit, recognized the vast opportunities to deepen Xinjiang-Pakistan connections and showed a keen interest in expanding business activities and strengthening human connections through the Khunjerab-Sost border crossing.

Both parties concurred on the necessity to fully harness the potential of collaboration between Xinjiang and its neighbouring Pakistani regions.
