New York: Pakistan has drawn attention to the conditions faced by children in conflict zones, particularly in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and Palestine, during a session at the United Nations Security Council.
Speaking at the UN Security Council Open Debate on Children and Armed Conflict, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, emphasized the vulnerability of children living under foreign occupation. He noted that these children are especially susceptible to human rights abuses and violence.
The statement was made in the context of an ongoing international dialogue on the impact of armed conflict on children, with a focus on those who are most at risk due to their living conditions.
The ambassador’s remarks highlight Pakistan’s continued advocacy for the protection of children in conflict zones, urging the international community to pay closer attention to this pressing issue.
