Washington, D.C.: The Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, D.C., hosted the concluding session of the “Pakistan-U.S. Tech Investment Conference 2025,” drawing a substantial gathering of IT firms and business leaders. This event marked the finale of a series that previously saw successful sessions in Dallas and New York City, aiming to spotlight Pakistan’s burgeoning potential in the information technology sector and attract foreign investment.
The conference was organized through a collaboration involving the Embassy of Pakistan, the Pakistan Software Export Board, the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, the Ministry of Commerce, P@SHA, and The Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs Global.
Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh of Pakistan to the United States welcomed attendees, emphasizing the conference as a demonstration of Pakistan’s IT potential. He remarked on the growth prospects within the IT sector, stating, “Pakistan is only beginning to unfold its IT potential.” He underscored the country’s geopolitical and geoeconomic significance, reflecting on its progress over the past 78 years.
Ambassador Sheikh highlighted the opportunities for collaboration between Pakistan and the United States, particularly in light of Pakistan’s youthful demographic and market profitability. He noted, “Pakistan’s IT market offers profit to investors,” and called for collaboration between the two nations in the IT sector.
The ambassador announced plans for a video series to showcase the success of Pakistani tech entrepreneurs, aiming to inspire youth involvement in startups. He pointed out the need for U.S. mentorship and financial support to help Pakistani talent achieve commercial success.
Industry leaders, including Mr. Abu Bakar of the Pakistan Software Export Board, Mr. Sajjad Syed of P@SHA, and Mr. Tariq Khan of OPEN Global, shared their optimism for Pakistan’s tech industry. They commended the Embassy and Consulate Generals’ efforts in organizing the conference series.
Attendees engaged in presentations from IT firms and participated in discussions with experts, gaining insights into Pakistan’s tech initiatives and investment opportunities.
