Pakistan Prime Minister Voices Strong Support for Palestine in New York Meeting


New York: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan has reiterated his country’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people during a press interaction following his meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. Sharif condemned the recent acts of violence in Gaza and called for an immediate ceasefire and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state to ensure regional peace.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Sharif expressed profound solidarity with the Palestinian people, highlighting the emotional and political support Pakistan has extended under his leadership. During his conversation with the media, Sharif detailed his discussions with President Abbas, emphasizing that the Pakistani people’s sentiments are strongly aligned with those suffering in Palestine.



Sharif criticized the ongoing violence in Gaza, describing it as unprecedented in modern history. He stressed that the international community must come together to demand an immediate halt to the hostilities and to support the formation of a sovereign Palestinian state, which he believes is essential for lasting peace in the Middle East.



Additionally, Sharif assured that the sacrifices made by the Palestinians in their pursuit of independence would not be forgotten, portraying a future where these efforts culminate in the realization of their own state.



President Mahmoud Abbas, in his remarks, recognized and appreciated Pakistan’s consistent backing of the Palestinian cause, which has been a cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy under Sharif’s administration.
