Pakistan Prepares for Elections with Comprehensive Security Measures


Islamabad, Interior Minister Gohar Ejaz announced that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure the peaceful and transparent conduct of the general elections set for Thursday. Speaking at a news conference alongside Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi, Ejaz urged citizens to vote without fear, highlighting extensive security measures to maintain order and safety during the electoral process.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the government has established a total of 90,777 polling stations across the country, with 44,000 categorized as normal, 29,985 as sensitive, and 16,766 as highly sensitive. To safeguard these sites, an average of seven to eight security personnel will be stationed at each polling station, culminating in the deployment of approximately 650,000 security personnel nationwide. The ministers emphasized the collaborative efforts of civil armed forces, the armed forces, police, and administrative bodies to create a conducive environment for voters on polling day.



Furthermore, Information Minister Solangi dispelled any speculations about the postponement of the elections, reaffirming the constitutional mandate that Pakistan shall be governed by its elected representatives. He also mentioned the launch of a new app designed to assist local and foreign journalists covering the elections, ensuring comprehensive media coverage of this pivotal democratic exercise.
