Pakistan Pavilion Shines at Gulfood 2025


Dubai: Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s Envoy to the UAE, inaugurated the Pakistan Pavilion at the 30th edition of Gulfood 2025, one of the world’s largest food and beverage trade exhibitions, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from February 17-21, 2025. The event features over 5,500 exhibitors from 129 countries, showcasing a diverse array of food products.



According to a statement by Press Information Department, Consul General Hussain Muhammad and Trade and Investment Counselor Ali Zeb Khan were also present at the inauguration ceremony. Under the umbrella of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), 45 Pakistani companies are participating, presenting a wide range of agro-based products such as rice, cereals, meat, dairy, spices, and more.



In total, over 200 Pakistani companies are privately participating in Gulfood 2025, reflecting the country’s expanding presence in the global food market. Ambassador Tirmizi expressed pride in the participation, noting the strategic design and location of the stalls, which aim to attract local and global buyers. He highlighted the significant interest in Pakistani products, including basmati rice and spices, and underscored the UAE’s role as a key trading partner.



The Ambassador emphasized the event as a platform for collaboration and innovation, allowing Pakistani exporters to maximize business opportunities. Mr. Ali Zeb Khan, Trade and Investment Counselor, reported Pakistan’s agri-food exports reached $8 billion globally in FY24, marking a 37% increase from the previous year, with notable growth in rice, maize, sesame, and more.



Mr. Shabbir Merchant, President of the Pakistan Business Council Dubai, pledged full support to Pakistani exhibitors, while Malik Faisal Jehangir, Chairman of the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan, expressed gratitude for the support from the ambassador and the Commercial Section, Pakistan Consulate Dubai, in enhancing participation in global trade events like Gulfood.
