Islamabad, Minister of Federal Education and Professional Training Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui announced Pakistan’s readiness to support the Syrian education system, offering scholarships and educational exchanges. This statement came during a meeting with a high-level Syrian delegation led by Deputy Minister of Education of Syria, Rami Al-Dhulli.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Siddiqui proposed a variety of educational initiatives including research-based scholarships for PhD candidates at notable Pakistani institutions like Allama Iqbal Open University and Quaid-e-Azam University. He emphasized the importance of student and teacher exchanges and mentioned the potential for establishing a campus of the Allama Iqbal Open University in Syria.
The meeting also touched on technological cooperation, with Pakistan offering to share its advanced distance learning systems, such as E-Taleem, to help enhance Syria’s educational infrastructure.
Rami Al-Dhulli acknowledged the proposal, expressing a mutual interest in increasing educational exchanges between the two nations, underscoring the potential benefits of such cooperation.
