Pakistan Observes World Standards Day with Focus on Global Compliance and Quality

Islamabad: Today marks the observation of World Standards Day, celebrated globally to honor the cooperative efforts of thousands of experts who develop voluntary technical agreements that become international standards. This year’s theme, “Shared Vision for a Better World,” underscores the commitment to enhancing quality and standardization across various sectors.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his World Standards Day message, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s relevant organizations in achieving adherence to the highest global standards. He emphasized that the growth of Pakistan’s exports is intricately linked to the compliance of its goods and services with international standards.

The Prime Minister also mentioned the active role of the Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) in engaging with the global community and encouraging domestic manufacturers to embrace standardization and quality-focused practices. He highlighted the PSQCA’s development of rigorous safety standards for automotive vehicles, aimed at protecting the lives of Pakistani citizens, reflecting the government’s dedication to prioritizing the well-being of its people through effective and comprehensive standards.
