Pakistan Observes World Population Day, Emphasizes Data-Driven Population Policies

Islamabad: The Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination observed World Population Day on July 11, focusing on the theme “Embracing the power of inclusive data towards a resilient and equitable future for all.” The event, aimed at raising awareness of population issues, was held at the Best Western Premier in Islamabad.

According to Press Information Department, the seminar featured a diverse group of participants including federal and provincial ministers, diplomats, NGO representatives, and media personnel. Dr. Mukhtar Malik, the Coordinator to the Prime Minister on National Health Services Regulation and Coordination, served as the chief guest.

Discussions centered on the pivotal role of inclusive data in developing effective population policies and strategies to address the needs of diverse societal segments. The seminar also highlighted the ongoing efforts under the National Action Plan on Population, emphasizing the government’s commitment to managing population growth through rights-based voluntary family planning initiatives.
