Pakistan Observes Black Day, Calls for Global Support on Kashmir Issue

Islamabad, Marking the somber events of 1947 when Indian forces made their entry into Srinagar, Pakistan observes Black Day, spotlighting the prolonged saga of oppression, incarceration, and high-handedness experienced by the inhabitants of the region. The country’s Minister for Law and Justice, Ahmad Irfan Aslam, in his address, drew attention to the continuous human rights violations by India in the occupied territory of Kashmir.

According to a news release by the Press International Department, the minister underscored the significance of the day, emphasizing the illegal occupation and the subsequent suppression inflicted upon the innocent people of Srinagar. He highlighted the urgent need for international cognizance, urging nations to remember their obligations as dictated by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions. These resolutions vouch for the inalienable right to self-determination for the Kashmiri populace.

Additionally, the Minister for Law pointed out the aggressive strategies employed by India, which not only infringe upon basic human rights but also involve the imposition of draconian laws. Such measures are systematically geared towards gaining undue dominance over the lands and properties belonging to the Kashmiri citizens.

Concluding his message, Ahmad Irfan Aslam reiterated the urgency for the international community to mount pressure on India to halt its grave human rights transgressions. Furthermore, he stressed the paramount importance of the UN resolutions’ execution as a step forward in the resolution of the Kashmir quandary.
