Pakistan Navy to Conduct Sea Guard-II Exercise in Maritime Security Effort


Karachi: Pakistan Navy will be conducting the Exercise Sea Guard 2025 Edition II from November 24 to November 28, aiming to assess and enhance the current security measures across the nation’s maritime domain. The exercise will engage multiple stakeholders in evaluating the existing security procedures to address the maritime challenges in the region.



According to a statement by Press Information Department, the Exercise Sea Guard 2025 has been organized to bring together various stakeholders within Pakistan’s maritime community. The exercise will focus on improving collaborative operational capabilities and addressing issues such as illegal fishing, narcotics smuggling, and human trafficking, which are prevalent in the region.



In a message related to the exercise, Rear Admiral Faisal Amin, Commander Coast, highlighted the strategic significance of Pakistan’s coastal belt, which extends over a thousand kilometers and is rich in natural resources. However, he noted that the region also faces numerous maritime challenges, necessitating coordinated efforts to secure it.



Rear Admiral Amin emphasized the importance of the Joint Maritime Information and Coordination Center, established in 2013, in facilitating cooperation among stakeholders. He noted that more than fifty stakeholders participated in the 2024 edition of the exercise, demonstrating their commitment to maritime security and trust in the Navy’s initiatives.



The exercise is expected to serve as a significant milestone in bolstering joint operational capabilities and addressing the emerging challenges in maritime security, as per Navy officials.
