Pakistan Navy Assumes CTF-151 Command for 11th Time


Islamabad: Pakistan Navy has taken command of the Multinational Combined Task Force 151 (CTF-151) from the Turkish Navy in a ceremony at the United States Naval Forces Central Command headquarters in Bahrain. Commodore Sohail Ahmad Azmie of the Pakistan Navy assumed leadership from Rear Admiral Rustu Sezer of the Turkish Navy during the event.



According to a statement by Pakistan Navy, Commodore Azmie emphasized the readiness of his team to undertake the responsibilities associated with this role. He highlighted the importance of collaboration to maintain security and stability in the region, ensuring the steady flow of maritime traffic. Commodore Azmie praised the outgoing commander, Rear Admiral Sezer, for his efforts in achieving the task force’s objectives.



This marks the eleventh time the Pakistan Navy has led CTF-151. Last year, Pakistan also took command of CTF-150 for the thirteenth time, showcasing its commitment to regional maritime peace and the confidence of its international partners.



The Change of Command Ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Pakistan’s Ambassador to Bahrain, Saqib Rauf; Turkiye’s Ambassador to Bahrain, Ayse Hilal Sayan Koytak; Commander of Combined Maritime Forces, Vice Admiral George M. Wikoff; and Deputy Commander of the Turkish Fleet, Vice Admiral Ibrahim Ozden Kocer, alongside other diplomats and naval representatives.
