Pakistan Moves Forward with PIACL Divestment, Chaired by Privatisation Minister Fawad Hasan Fawad

Islamabad, The Privatisation Commission of Pakistan, led by Caretaker Federal Minister for Privatisation, Fawad Hasan Fawad, held a significant meeting with Earnest and Young, the financial advisor for the divestment of Pakistan International Airlines Corporation Limited (PIACL).

According to Press Information Department, during the meeting, Earnest and Young presented a comprehensive business plan outlining the investment roadmap and immediate funding requirements for PIACL. The plan encompasses capital and fleet requirements for the short and medium term, aiming to transform PIACL into a viable and globally competitive airline.

Fawad Hasan Fawad advised further rationalization of these projections before their submission for the approval of the federal cabinet. The meeting also discussed the legal segregation plan and transaction structure, which, along with the business plan and valuation methodology, will be presented to the federal cabinet for final approval.

This step marks a pivotal move in the ongoing efforts to privatize and revitalize PIACL, aligning it with global aviation standards and competitive practices.
