ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, asserted on Sunday that the country is fully capable of responding to any perceived Indian aggression with decisive force. Speaking to foreign media representatives, Tarar emphasized that Pakistan’s previous encounters with India should not be misinterpreted as weakness.
Tarar referenced the Pulwama incident of February 2019, noting that Pakistan had successfully navigated the crisis and left India to regret its actions. He criticized India for its lack of response to terrorist incidents in Pakistan, such as the recent attack on the Jaffar Express.
The Minister accused India of engaging in state-sponsored terrorism within Pakistan and other countries. He claimed that India’s involvement in the assassination of Sikhs globally has been confirmed by the nations where these incidents occurred.
Tarar presented what he described as credible evidence of India’s support for terrorism in Balochistan, citing funding and harboring of extremist groups. He also mentioned an attack on the Pakistani High Commission in London, attributing it to India’s extremist ideology.
In response to accusations regarding the Pahalgam incident, Tarar dismissed India’s allegations against Pakistan as unfounded. He argued that the incident was being used as a distraction from Pakistan’s achievements in counterterrorism efforts.
The Minister called for an independent investigation into the Pahalgam incident to demonstrate Pakistan’s non-involvement. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to fighting terrorism and promoting global peace, highlighting its role as a responsible member of the UN Security Council and other international alliances.
