Islamabad, Commemorating the fifth anniversary of ‘Operation Swift Retort,’ Pakistan’s armed forces have reaffirmed their commitment to defending the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against any form of aggression with unwavering resolve. This stance underscores the nation’s readiness to safeguard its people and territorial boundaries under all circumstances.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the significance of February 27, 2019, was highlighted when the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) successfully shot down two Indian aircraft that had breached Pakistani airspace, leading to the capture of an Indian pilot. The pilot was subsequently released in a gesture aimed at peace, reflecting Pakistan’s preference for peaceful relations with its neighbors.
A statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army’s media wing, emphasized the events of that day as a testament to the Pakistani people’s resolve and the armed forces’ professional handling of the situation, which arose from unwarranted aggression by India, motivated by political and electoral gains. The ISPR criticized India’s attempts to manipulate the narrative, asserting that the day’s events demonstrated Pakistan’s operational superiority and the armed forces’ steadfastness, which garnered recognition from military experts and analysts worldwide. These acknowledgments served to counteract and discredit India’s unfounded claims.
The ISPR further declared Pakistan’s commitment to peace and the importance of coexisting peacefully with neighboring countries. However, it sternly warned that any aggression directed at Pakistan’s people, sovereignty, or territorial integrity would be met with immediate and forceful response, highlighting the nation’s readiness to defend itself against any threats, consistently and without hesitation.
