Pakistan Marks 59th Defence and Martyrs Day, Honoring 1965 War Heroes


Islamabad: On the eve of the 59th Defence and Martyrs Day, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Services Chiefs, and the Pakistan Armed Forces commemorated the legacy of the 1965 War, honoring the soldiers’ valor and sacrifice. The day highlights the historical victory and pays tribute to the martyrs and veterans who have defended the nation since its inception.



According to Inter Services Public Relations, the 1965 War is celebrated as a significant testament to the nation’s resilience and determination, with the Armed Forces successfully repelling enemy advancements during the conflict. This annual observance not only remembers those who fought but also recognizes the continuous sacrifices made by military personnel in the defense of Pakistan, including their ongoing fight against terrorism.



The ceremony included tributes to the families of the martyrs, acknowledging their courage and resilience. The Armed Forces also reaffirmed their commitment to defending Pakistan against all threats, embodying the spirit of dedication that was evident in September 1965.
