Pakistan Leaders Call for Unity and Reflection on Independence Day

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif extended their congratulations to the people of Pakistan as the nation celebrated its 79th Independence Day. In their messages, both leaders emphasized the importance of unity, equality, and service to all citizens, urging Pakistanis to rise above divisions.

The leaders paid tribute to the sacrifices and courage that led to the founding of Pakistan, honoring Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the workers of the Pakistan Movement. President Zardari expressed pride in the nation’s resilience and unity, citing recent successes against external aggression as a testament to Pakistan’s strength.

The President also reiterated Pakistan’s support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, pledging continued diplomatic and moral backing for their right to self-determination.

Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the significance of Marka-e-Haq, not just as a military triumph but as validation of the Two-Nation Theory. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peaceful coexistence and called for dialogue with India to resolve regional disputes, including the issue of Jammu and Kashmir.

Sharif outlined government initiatives for economic welfare, including reduced electricity rates, and emphasized the need for a stable economy to ensure national defense and sovereignty. He invited political parties and societal segments to join efforts in safeguarding Pakistan’s interests.

The Armed Forces, through their leaders, echoed these sentiments, celebrating the nation’s independence and vowing to protect its sovereignty and uphold its constitutional values. They paid homage to the founding fathers and reaffirmed their commitment to national security and integrity.
