Pakistan Launches First Lunar Orbit Mission ‘ICUBE-Qamar’ from China

Islamabad, Pakistan is set to launch its inaugural lunar orbit mission, ICUBE-Qamar, today. The mission will be carried out from Hainan, China, utilizing China’s Chang’E6 launch vehicle. This marks a significant step in Pakistan’s space exploration efforts.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the ICUBE-Qamar satellite was developed in collaboration with China’s Shanghai University and Pakistan’s national space agency, SUPARCO. The development signifies a strengthening of technological and educational cooperation between Pakistan and China in the realm of space research. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting confirmed that the launch will be broadcast live on the IST website at 12:50 PM. The primary objective of the CubeSats, like ICUBE-Qamar, is to support scientific research, technology development, and educational projects in space exploration.
