Islamabad: The Pakistan-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG) convened its inaugural meeting with the Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan, Akamarsu Shuichi, to discuss strategies for enhancing the longstanding and cordial relations between the two nations. The meeting focused on expanding cooperation in trade, development, and cultural exchange.

The session, chaired by Mehtab Akber Rashdi, Convener of the Pakistan-Japan PFG, was attended by several members of the National Assembly, including Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon and Anwar-ul-Haq Chaudhary. The meeting underscored the shared commitment to deepening bilateral ties.

Rashdi emphasized the importance of cultural conservation and tourism-based collaborations. She advocated for increased public diplomacy to counter misconceptions about Pakistan and foster people-to-people exchanges.

Ambassador Shuichi praised the “Uran Pakistan” program for promoting cultural understanding. The discussion also covered potential cooperation in manpower, religious tourism, and investment, noting the interest of Japanese youth in Pakistan’s activities.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to strengthen the partnership between Pakistan and Japan, emphasizing the mutual benefits of a dynamic bilateral relationship.
