Pakistan Integrates Climate Resilience into National Planning, Says Climate Coordinator Romina Khurshid Alam

Islamabad: Romina Khurshid Alam, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change, announced that the government has launched several policies aimed at integrating climate resilience into national planning frameworks. This move comes as part of Pakistan’s effort to manage and mitigate the significant risks posed by climate change.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a recent event in Islamabad, Alam detailed the scope of these initiatives, which include the national adaptation plan, climate change policy, and water policy. These policies serve as guidelines to enhance the country’s ability to cope with climate-related challenges.

Alam also discussed the severe impacts of climate events on Pakistan, highlighting the country’s vulnerability and the critical need for effective climate and disaster risk financing. This strategic approach aims to bolster Pakistan’s resilience against ongoing and future climate threats.
