Pakistan, Hungary Pledge To Enhance Cooperation

Islamabad: Pakistan and Hungary have pledged to expedite agreements focusing on investment protection, civil aviation collaboration, and direct flights between the nations. This commitment arose from a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto during the UN General Assembly’s 80th session in New York.

The leaders also emphasized finalizing a visa waiver for diplomatic and official passport holders. They reiterated their dedication to bolstering bilateral relations as the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties approaches, exploring new avenues for cooperation.

Dar highlighted Pakistan’s keenness to expand trade and investment with Hungary. He briefed Szijjarto on measures taken by Pakistan’s government to facilitate Hungarian investments.

Szijjarto conveyed gratitude to the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister for their support in fostering Hungarian investments in Pakistan.

Dar also acknowledged Hungary’s provision of 400 scholarships to Pakistani students. Szijjarto affirmed his administration’s dedication to continuing educational opportunities for Pakistani students in Hungary.

Regional and global peace and security matters were also addressed during the discussion.
