Islamabad: Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry has announced Pakistan’s inaugural Maritime Investment Conference, aimed at attracting domestic and international investors to the country’s maritime sector.
During a high-level meeting, Chaudhry outlined plans for the conference, which will present a range of investment opportunities across all ports and affiliated departments. The initiative seeks to secure sustainable investments to bolster Pakistan’s blue economy and maritime infrastructure.
The meeting covered key logistical details, including the date, venue, and thematic focus of the event. Officials emphasized that the conference will serve as a platform to establish Pakistan as a regional hub for maritime investment and innovation.
Discussion points included potential investment areas such as port infrastructure, fisheries, marine transport, shipbuilding, and coastal tourism, aligning with national economic diversification and sustainable development goals.
A strategic media and branding campaign was also discussed to promote the conference and attract participation from investors, financial institutions, and development partners.
The minister instructed officials to complete standardized templates for investment proposals and project submissions, aiming to simplify the evaluation and approval process for new ventures in the sector.
