Paris, The Pakistan Embassy in France, along with the Permanent Delegation to UNESCO, held a significant event titled “Glacial Shift: Unveiling Pakistan’s Unique Climate Challenge” to spotlight the impacts of global warming on the country’s glaciers.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the event featured the premiere of the documentary “Ice Giants: Discovering the Karakorum,” which explores the response of Pakistan’s glaciers to climate change. The screening was followed by a panel discussion with experts including paléoclimatologist Valerie Masson-Delmottee and glaciologists Patrick Wagnon and Fanny Brun. Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad emphasized the event’s goal of raising awareness and finding solutions to protect these critical natural resources for future generations.
