Islamabad, On the International Day of UN Peacekeepers, Pakistan celebrates the contributions of its military personnel to global peacekeeping efforts, as stated by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. The nation pays tribute to the dedicated service of its peacekeepers, including the heroic sacrifices of those who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
According to Press Information Department, Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the long-standing commitment of Pakistani peacekeepers, noting that over 230,000 military personnel, including more than 500 women, have participated in UN missions over the past 64 years. Pakistan remains grateful to the 181 peacekeepers who have died serving under the UN flag. The Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s ongoing dedication to international peace and security, emphasizing the country’s role as a responsible member of the global community in promoting a peaceful world for future generations.
