Islamabad, As the Hindu community in Pakistan joins the global celebration of Diwali, the Pakistan Hindu Council has dedicated this year’s festival to the call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Diwali, known as the festival of lights, is traditionally marked by festive gatherings, fireworks, feasts, and prayers.
According to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, the Patron-in-Chief of the Pakistan Hindu Council, highlighted the essence of Diwali as the triumph of light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance. Meanwhile, Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf extended his felicitations to the Hindu Community in Pakistan. In his message, he lauded the contributions of minorities to the country’s development and progress. He emphasized that the Constitution of Pakistan ensures the rights of minorities and guarantees every citizen the freedom to observe and practice their religious beliefs, regardless of caste and creed.
