Beijing: Federal Secretary for Human Rights, Allah Dino Khawaja and Barrister Aqeel Malik represented Pakistan at a global forum focused on the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. The delegation emphasized Pakistan’s efforts in advancing women’s empowerment, including the introduction of the National Gender Policy Framework and gender-responsive budgeting.
According to Ministry of Human Rights, the representatives highlighted initiatives to increase women’s participation in politics, the judiciary, and the corporate sector. Programs like the Women Pink Bus Service and the Women on Wheels project, designed to improve mobility and safety for women, were also discussed. The delegation shared key reforms implemented to combat violence against women, promote financial inclusion, and eliminate educational barriers.
The Pakistani delegation reiterated the nation’s commitment to creating a society where women and girls can thrive, free from discrimination and violence. They affirmed Pakistan’s dedication to gender equality and its collaboration with international partners to foster a just and inclusive future.
