Pakistan High Commission in London Hosts Seminar and Photo Exhibition on Kashmir Issue

London: The Pakistan High Commission in London organized a seminar and photo exhibition to observe “Jammu and Kashmir Black Day,” with the aim of highlighting the ongoing issues in the region. The event was attended by British parliamentarians, Kashmiri representatives residing in the UK, and media personnel. During the seminar, the High Commissioner of Pakistan to the UK, Dr. Mohammad Faisal, reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to resolving the Jammu and Kashmir issue in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

According to High Commission For Pakistan – United Kingdom, Dr. Faisal criticized the Indian government’s actions in the region, labeling the elections in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir as a violation of international law. He condemned the use of force, unlawful detentions, human rights abuses, communication blackouts, and the use of pellet guns on youth by Indian authorities. He called on the Pakistani and Kashmiri communities in the UK to unite in their efforts to advocate for a resolution to the Jammu and Kashmir issue based on United Nations Security Council resolutions.

British parliamentarians present at the seminar expressed their intent to continue advocating for the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. They emphasized that the issue is not merely a bilateral matter between Pakistan and India but a longstanding international concern. They urged the international community to press India to cease human rights violations in the region.

Speakers at the event paid tribute to the sacrifices made by the people of Jammu and Kashmir under Indian rule. Prior to the seminar, attendees, including British parliamentarians and Kashmiri leaders, visited a photo exhibition arranged by the Pakistan High Commission. The exhibition displayed images depicting the hardships faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
