Pakistan Government Cuts Fuel Prices to Provide Economic Relief

Islamabad: In a move aimed at providing economic relief to its citizens, the Pakistan government has announced significant reductions in fuel prices, effective from midnight tonight. The price of petrol has been reduced by 2.07 rupees per liter, and high-speed diesel by 3.40 rupees per liter for the next fortnight.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the new prices set the cost of petrol at 247.03 rupees per liter and diesel at 246.29 rupees per liter. Additionally, the prices for kerosene oil and light diesel have been cut by 3.57 rupees and 1.03 rupees per liter, respectively.

This latest price cut is part of a series of reductions over the past two months, following directives from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, resulting in a total decrease of 28.57 rupees for petrol and 37.51 rupees for diesel. These measures are part of the government’s broader strategy to lessen the financial burden on the populace and pass on the benefits of lower petroleum product costs.

The Prime Minister has prioritized providing relief to the people since the current administration took office, reflecting an ongoing effort to stabilize the economy and assist Pakistani citizens in managing living costs.
