Islamabad: As Pakistan approaches its Independence Day, the nation is immersed in preparations, with vibrant displays of patriotism evident across cities, towns, and villages. The public, especially the youth, is actively participating in the festivities, adorning themselves and their surroundings with national symbols.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the enthusiasm is palpable as citizens purchase flags, badges, and attire in shades of green to commemorate the nation’s independence. In Lahore, the Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab is set to host the Azadi Marathon, a 12-kilometer race starting at Liberty Roundabout in Gulberg III, which will trace a route through key locations, ending back at the central point of the roundabout.
Similar festive scenes are unfolding in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, where local bazaars and buildings are decked out with national flags, portraits of national heroes, and lights. Muzaffarabad is buzzing with activity, with stalls filled with patriotic merchandise like buntings, badges, and caps crowding the main Madina Market and other shopping areas.
The spirit of celebration is extending to personal vehicles as well, with youngsters decorating their bikes and cars with flags, demonstrating a nation united in celebration and remembrance.
