Pakistan Gears Up for General Elections TomorrowCaretaker Federal Minister Highlights Rich Sindhi Civilization and Celebrates Renowned Writer Ali Baba

Islamabad, Pakistan is poised for a significant democratic exercise tomorrow with the scheduled general elections for the National Assembly and the four provincial assemblies. The electoral campaigns, led by various political parties and independent candidates, wrapped up last night across the nation, setting the stage for the voting process.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Election Commission of Pakistan has finalized all necessary preparations to facilitate the elections. A total of 90,675 polling stations have been set up across the four provinces to accommodate the electoral process. In the race for the National Assembly seats, 5,121 candidates are contesting, while 12,695 candidates are competing for seats in the provincial assemblies.

With a staggering 128,585,760 registered voters, the country is on the cusp of deciding its future legislative direction. The extensive number of polling stations and candidates underscores the scale of these elections and the Election Commission’s efforts to ensure a smooth and inclusive voting day for all eligible Pakistani citizens.

Karachi, During the launch of a new book on the life and achievements of the celebrated Sindhi writer Ali Muhammad, known affectionately as Ali Baba, Caretaker Federal Minister Madad Ali Sindhi underscored the rich, multi-lingual, multi-religious, and multi-ethnic fabric of Sindh’s civilization. The event, which took place on Wednesday, showcased the province’s cultural and literary heritage, with Ali Baba being hailed as one of its most eminent literary figures.



According to Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, the book titled “Ali Baba’s Personality and Art,” authored by Madad Ali Sindhi, who also serves as the Caretaker Federal Minister for Education, delves into the life and creative legacy of Ali Baba. In his speech, Minister Sindhi expressed his personal fortune of having encountered Ali Baba across various cities in Sindh and reflected on the profound cultural and civilizational strengths of the region.



Minister Sindhi praised Sindh for its significant contributions to literature and culture, mentioning Sheikh Ayaz as one of the great modern poets of the province. The minister’s book offers an in-depth look into Ali Baba’s personality, emphasizing his humility despite his literary greatness. Ali Baba’s works, including the novel “Moenjo Daro” and the drama “Dungi Manj Darya,” were highlighted for their enduring and timeless artistry, revealing the depth of human existence and the self.



Madad Ali Sindhi expressed hope that Ali Baba’s writings would be translated into Urdu, English, and other languages, ensuring that his contributions to literature and the arts continue to inspire and resonate with audiences globally. The launch event not only celebrated Ali Baba’s literary achievements but also reaffirmed the rich cultural legacy of Sindh and its pivotal role in fostering a diverse and vibrant literary tradition.
