Pakistan Focuses on Olive Cultivation to Boost Economy.


Islamabad: There is a favorable environment for olive cultivation in Pakistan, said the Federal Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain in his speech at Al Baraka Pakistan Olive Summit 2024 today in Islamabad. He said that Government is focusing on olive production to meet domestic demand and earn foreign exchange while adding that Pakistan has the potential to export quality olive products in the world market. The Minister stressed that Research is crucial to the growth of any sector. In order to develop the agricultural sector, we need to undertake research to enhance the agricultural development in the country, he added.



According to Press Information Department, the Al Baraka Pakistan Olive Summit 2024 brought together key national and international experts, policymakers, and industry leaders to advance Pakistan’s olive industry. Under the theme “Developing a Safe, Sustainable & Ready-to-Export Supply Chain of the Olive Sector,” the summit emphasized Pakistan’s potential to emerge as a significant player in the global olive market.
