Islamabad: Barrister Aqeel Malik, MNA and Advisor to the Law Division, chaired the third meeting of the sub-committee focused on enhancing Pakistan’s Gender Development Index (GDI). Representatives from the National Commission on the Status of Women, Islamabad, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, and provincial government departments were present at the meeting. Discussions centered around key indicators like health, education, economic, and political participation as outlined by the World Economic Forum to address gender disparity.
According to Ministry of Human Rights, the chair underscored the need for impactful policy measures to boost female labor force participation and literacy rates. A report containing actionable recommendations will soon be presented to the National Task Force under the Federal Minister for Human Rights for advancing the National Action Plan on Human Rights.
