Islamabad, The government of Pakistan, led by Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja, is intensifying efforts to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) and enhance IT exports. This commitment was articulated during meetings with key figures in the technology sector, including representatives from the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) and telecom industry leaders.
According to Press Information Department, during her meeting with the Pakistan Software Houses Association delegation, Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja emphasized the government’s proactive approach to fostering the IT sector’s growth. She highlighted the importance of providing international-level training and employment opportunities for the youth and encouraged Pakistan Software Houses Association to help bridge the gap between demand and supply of IT professionals.
Chairman Pakistan Software Houses Association Muhammad Zohaib Khan acknowledged the ministry’s role in stabilizing the country’s economy through IT development, commending Minister Khawaja’s dedication to promoting the industry. Additionally, discussions with Zong’s Chief Regulatory Officer Kamran Ali and Nayatel’s CEO Wahaj-us-Siraj focused on the 5G spectrum auction and the expansion of telecommunication and fiberization infrastructures in Pakistan.
These meetings underscore the government’s strategic vision to enhance Pakistan’s position in the global IT market and leverage technology for economic growth.
