Pakistan Focuses on Accelerating Development in Azad Jammu and Kashmir

Islamabad, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal announced significant initiatives aimed at bolstering the development of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). These efforts were discussed during a meeting with the Prime Minister of AJK, Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq, underscoring the government’s commitment to the region’s progress.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Iqbal highlighted the priority given to Azad Kashmir’s development, with a particular focus on enhancing the tourism sector. The discussions included leveraging advanced satellite technology to improve infrastructure and services, notably through the deployment of the Paksat MM1 satellite, which is expected to provide high-speed internet services to AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The minister emphasized the strategic use of this technology in vital sectors such as education and health, aiming to transform and elevate the quality of life for the residents of AJK and surrounding areas. This meeting marks a crucial step in a series of planned developments intended to ensure sustainable growth and modernization in the region.
