Karachi, Pakistan has officially declined the suggestion for talks with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), emphasizing the expectation from Afghan authorities for decisive actions against terrorist outfits operating from their territory. This stance was articulated by Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch during a weekly news briefing in Islamabad, where she also addressed various regional security issues, including relations with Iran, Palestine, and the situation in Kashmir.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Baloch rejected the notion of negotiating with TTP, highlighting the necessity for the Afghan government to address the terrorist threats that are affecting Pakistan. She reinforced Pakistan’s commitment to countering terrorism and ensuring the safety of projects under the Pakistan-China partnership.
Baloch also spoke on the recent terrorist attack in Iran, condemning the act and advocating for collaborative efforts with Iran to combat terrorism. Regarding the issue of Palestine’s bid for UN membership, she confirmed Pakistan’s support for Palestine, aligning with its longstanding policy and international solidarity.
