Islamabad: The Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, has affirmed Pakistan’s dedication to completing a 37-month International Monetary Fund (IMF) program, which he described as the country’s own initiative for macro-economic reforms and structural adjustments. This statement came during a meeting with Mahir Binici, the new IMF Resident Representative for Pakistan, at the Finance Division.

According to Press Information Department, the government, led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, is focused on maintaining the trust and credibility regained over the past 14 months to pave the way for inclusive and sustainable growth. During the meeting, the Finance Minister extended a formal welcome to Mr. Binici and assured him of full support in his official responsibilities and ongoing consultations with the government. Mr. Binici expressed his commitment to collaborating closely with the Pakistani government to ensure the successful completion of the IMF program.
