ISLAMABAD: Pakistan, recognized as the world’s fifth most populous nation, confronts enduring food insecurity and developmental challenges despite significant investments aimed at achieving Sustainable Development Goals. Amid these efforts, the country continues to grapple with high rates of stunting and substantial numbers of out-of-school children, exacerbated by recurring climate shocks.
According to Relief Web, recent assessments reveal that approximately 7.5 million people in Pakistan are currently experiencing crisis or emergency levels of food insecurity, highlighting the ongoing humanitarian needs. The World Food Programme (WFP) is actively implementing its Country Strategic Plan for 2023-2027, focusing on providing essential relief and nutritional support while working in tandem with governmental initiatives to strengthen food and nutrition security across the nation.
