Lahore: A new report from the Pakistan Meteorological Department highlights mixed rainfall patterns and above-normal temperatures in many parts of Pakistan during the week of July 15 to July 21, 2024. Despite widespread rains, western Balochistan, northern Sindh, and parts of Punjab recorded below-average precipitation, contributing to ongoing drought concerns.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department, temperature fluctuations were notable, with most plain areas experiencing temperatures between 1°C and 3.5°C above the norm, while northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern Balochistan saw cooler conditions. The weekly update also includes predictions of intensified monsoon currents, leading to hot and humid conditions and expected rainfalls in various regions through the end of July.
