Pakistan expresses readiness to reduce emissions 50% by 2030: Amin Aslam 

Islamabad, October 14, 2021 (PPI-OT):Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Climate Change Amin Aslam says Pakistan has expressed its readiness to reduce emissions fifty percent by 2030. Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said we will reduce emissions by fifteen percent from our own resources whilst further reduction of thirty five percent can be achieved through conditional financing from the international community. He said we have presented this plan to the world.

The Special Assistant said Pakistan has already reduced its emissions by nine percent as a result of tangible steps including ten billion tree program. Amin Aslam said the government has also updated its Climate Change policy and approved National Wildlife Policy to deal with environmental issues. He said the wildlife policy has been framed in consultation with the provinces. He said the wildlife will be protected by involving the local people.
